KIDAPAWAN CITY – (May 6, 2023) The City Government here has awarded cash incentives and certificates of recognition to elementary and secondary athletes who won medals during the SOCCSKSARGEN Regional Athletic Meet.
This is in recognition and appreciation for the athletes who won during the events of the SRAA the City of Kidapawan successfully hosted recently.
Gold medallist received P5,000 cash incentive each while those who won silver and bronze were awarded with P3,000 and P1,000 respectively.
City Mayor Atty. Jose Paolo Evangelista along with DepEd City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Natividad Ocon CESO VI, City Councilors Judith Navara, Morgan Melodias, Mike Ablang, Jason Roy Sibug, Cenn Teena Taynan, Atty. Francis Palmones Jr and Cotabato Vice Governor Efren Piňol who represented Governor Emmylou Taliňo – Mendoza, conferred the awards to winning athletes of the Kidapawan City delegation.
Winning coaches were also given certificates of recognition during the ceremony held at the city gymnasium on Saturday morning, May 6, 2023.
Mayor Evangelista assured his sustainable support, recognition and giving of incentives to athletes and coaches representing Kidapawan City in all sporting events.
Related to this, the Mayor is grateful to all who contributed for the organized, orderly, peaceful and successful conduct of the SRAA meet.
“ This SRAA meet will forever be remembered in the annals of SOCCSKSARGEN history as the best ever organized . This will not be taken away from us”, Mayor Evangelista proudly said.
Especially mentioned was the warm hospitality and provision of the hygiene kits, unlimited water supply, and security for all athletes and delegates in their billeting quarters and playing venues in the different parts of the city during the week-long meet.
Kidapawan City won a total of 32 gold, 31 silver and 56 bronze medals and placed 5th overall in the 2023 SRAA Regional Athletic Meet.##(CMO)
