KIDAPAWAN CITY – (April 20, 2023) LOCAL OFFICIALS OF THE CITY Government of Kidapawan lead the ground breaking of three infrastructure, health and environmental protection projects in the city.

These projects are aimed to give better road access to the public, improved the operations of the City Government, provide better health services for the people and promote environmental protection in line with the Luntian Kidapawan concept of governance being implemented at present.

β€œThis is where the taxes paid by the people to the City Government go”, remarked City Mayor Atty. Jose Paolo Evangelista who led the city officials in the ground breaking and laying of time capsules on three separate projects today, April 20, 2023.

First of these undertakings was the Road Concreting and Construction of Slope Protection and Installation of Pipe Culverts that is located along Maglan Road that will link the villages of Magsaysay and Lanao.

Mayor Evangelista in a message, said that the road concreting project aside from providing better access to its residents and motorists traversing the said barangays, will help spur economic growth for both barangays of Magsaysay and Lanao.

This project will also help prevent flooding in times of rain and will be installed with streetlights later on to maintain peace and order in the community.

Magsaysay Village Chair Julio Labinghisa and Lanao Chair Arberto Canonoy thanked the Mayor and the City Government for fulfilling the said projects that will greatly help their constituents.

Soon after, a Proposed Construction of a Multi -Purpose Building in Eco Park in Barangay Magsaysay commenced.

The project will be utilized by the General Services Office as storage and depository facility for equipment and supplies used by the City Government in its daily operation in extending services to the public.

This project is part of the development of the Magsaysay Eco Park that will house several government buildings and facilities in the future, Mayor Evangelista revealed.

Lastly, the City Government officials and local health authorities laid the time capsule in the ground breaking ceremony for the Construction of the Waste Water Treatment Facility of the Covid19 Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility or TTMF and Bio-Molecular Laboratory located in Duhat Drive, Barangay Poblacion.

Dr, Thadeus Averilla, MD, Chief of City Hospital emphasized the need to carry out the said project not only to provide better health services for patients admitted in the City Government operated health facility, but also to ensure the prevention of the spread of diseases from the area to the nearby communities.

This follows the directive of being Environmental Compliant Certified by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources or DENR as waste water coming from the facility will be treated and curb contamination of drinking water for the residents living nearby, Dr. Averilla explained.

Joining Mayor Evangelista in the ground breaking ceremony and laying of time capsules were City Councilors Judith Navarra, Jason Roy Sibug, Carlo Agamon, Galen Ray Lonzaga, Mike Ablang, Airene Claire Pagal, Liga ng Barangay President Morgan Melodias, barangay officials of Magsaysay and Lanao, health service providers from the City Health Office and the different department managers of the City Government of Kidapawan.

The said projects are expected to be completed by the third quarter of this year or 120 calendar days from the present. (CMO-CIO)
