Kidapawan City — (November 1, 2023)
Apat na karangalan ang iniuwi ng Lokal na Pamahalaan mula sa taonang programa ng pagkilala sa mga performing Local Government Units ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa SOCCSKSARGEN Region sa Koronadal City kahapon, October 31, 2023.

Kabilang sa 43 Outstanding LGU Implementers ng mga Programa, Proyekto, at Activities (PPA) ng DILG, ang Kidapawan City para sa taong 2023, na tumanggap ng apat na awards at pagkilala– ang Most Functional Local Project Monitoring Committees (LPMCs), Most Outstanding Peace and Order Council (POC), Most Outstanding Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Program (Hall of Famer Awardee), at Most Outstanding Sanggunian (Component Cities Category / 2nd Runner-Up).

Personal na tinanggap nina City Administrator Janice Garcia, Executive Assistant/ CPMC Member Peter Salac, DILG-CLGOO Julia Judith, CADAC Secretariat Cheryl Cawagas, at SP Secretary Blessie Cagayao, bilang mga kinatawan ni City Mayor Atty. Jose Paolo Evangelista.

Kidapawan became a City on February 12, 1998 by virtued of Republic Act No.8500 inked by the 12th
President Fidel V. Ramos, making it a Component City of the Province of Cotabato. Despite some
opposition, Kidapawenos overwhelmingly ratified the cityhood in a plebiscite on March 21, 1998.


Historically named a district of Pikit in 1942, Kidapawan was later declared into a Municipality
through Execute Order No. 82 of President Manuel A. Roxas on August 18, 1947-thereby becoming
the fourth town of the then Empire Province of Cotabato. The empire was then composed of the
municipalities of Cotabato (now Cotabato City), Dulawan (later named Datu Piang) and Midsayap.
