Kidapawan City — (December 18, 2023)
Almost five hundred (493) Local Government Units (LGUs) nationwide were recognized and awarded with Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) at The Manila Hotel recently.
SGLG awardees this year were 28 provinces, 64 cities (including Kidapawan), and 401 municipalities.
City Mayor Atty. Jose Paolo Evangelista personally received the award, along with his betterhalf, City Administrator Janice Garcia, and City Local Government Operations Officer Julia Judith Geveso, from DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos and other key officials.
This is the 6th consecutive time that the City Government received such award, for passing all the 10 SGLG indicators such as: financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection and sensitivity, peace, health compliance and responsiveness, sustainable education, business-friendliness and competitiveness, safety, peace and order, environmental management, tourism, heritage development, culture and the arts and youth development.
Aside from SGLG marker, LGUs also received Incentive Funds: P4M for provinces, P2.3M for cities, and P1.8M for municipalities.
Mayor Pao committed to utilize the incentive fund for streetlighting.
SGLG is an intitutionalized award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program that encourages LGU’s commitment to continuously progress and improve their performance along various governance areas, as stated in Republic Act No. 11292 or The Seal of Good Local Governance Act of 2019.
