Mayor Evangelista invites everyone for the City’s 22nd Charter Day
KIDAPAWAN CITY – CITY MAYOR Joseph Evangelista is inviting everyone to join and witness the activities of the 22nd Charter Day on February 10-15, 2020.
The festivities will push through after the series of strong earthquakes struck the City in October 2019.
“ We want everyone to know that Kidapawan City is going strong despite the recent earthquakes that affected our people that is why the festivities will push through as scheduled”, the Mayor said.
The schedules for the weeklong festivities are as follows:
February 10-14, 2020
8 am – 11 pm Agro Trade Exhibit, Street Food Festival and Ornamental Display(Suroyan sa Plaza) and Ukayan sa Kidapawan (Lopez-Quirino street)
7pm – 10 pm Live Band sa Suroyan (Suroyan sa Plaza formerly Pavilion Area)
February 10, 2020
7 am -10 am Drum and Lyre Competition Elementary Category (Catholic Church – City hall grounds)
1 pm – 6pm Barangay Day (City Gym)
4 pm Agro Trade Exhibit, Street Food Festival and Ornamental Display Opening Ceremony ( Suroyan sa Plaza)
February 11, 2020
7 am – 10 am Drum and Lyre Competition High School Category (Catholic Church – City Hall grounds)
February 12, 2020
7 am – 8:30 am Civic Military and Carnival Thematic Costume Parade (Iglesia Ni Cristo – City Hall grounds)
9 am-10:30 am Culmination Day Program(City Hall grounds)

Theme for this year’s celebration is “Kidapawan City at 22 Celebrating Life, Sustaining Peace and Envisioning Prosperity”.
It was in February 12, 1998 when President Fidel V. Ramos signed Republic Act 8500 that declared Kidapawan as a Component City in the Province of Cotabato. ##(cio/lkoasay)
