More than 600 Kidapawenos avail free late birth certificate registrations from City LGU
KIDAPAWAN CITY (January 12, 2021) – Beneficiaries of the free birth certificate and late registration as well are proud of the Kidapawan City LGU’s program to help indigent individuals secure the said document without having to pay any amount.
Dubbed as “Rehistro Mo, Sagot Ko”, the project aims to help individuals especially those coming from poor families was launched in February 2020 which aims to provide birth certificates and avoid difficulties in the future.
Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista said this project forms part of the basic services intended for his constituents and firmly believes that every individual should possess the document.
“Every Filipino has the right to have an official document that contains his or her birth details but sad to say that still many people who do not have the capacity to secure this on their own, thus; this project came through”, said Mayor Evangelista.
Furthermore, he said that the project is in support to the advocacy of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to register each and every Filipino Citizen and come up with an accurate census.
The City Civil Registrar, City Legal, and City Information Office served as frontline agencies in processing the birth certificates and in making sure that each client is given appropriate legal assistance and to ensure that at the end of the day everyone is happy as a recipient of the project.
Raul A. Malaluan and Atty. Jose Paolo M. Evangelista, City Civil Registrar and City Legal Officer, respectively are both optimistic that the project will help more individuals residing at the different areas in the city.
Some of the villages already served include those with significant number of Indigenous Peoples such as Perez, Birada, Balabag, and Kalaisan along with one of the densely populated Singao.
The City LGU also said the “Rehistro Mo, Sagot Ko” project is very timely given the present Covid19 pandemic where people are advised to stay at home and be safe from the virus, aside from decongesting the concerned or respective offices. All they need to do is to wait for the representatives from the City Hall and provide the necessary information needed to make the document. At present, the City LGU said it is preparing to conduct the activity in Barangay Poblacion, Kidapawan City as the next village beneficiary. (CIO_AJPME/jscj)
