Ito ay pantawid pansamantala na inisyatibo ng City Government upang maibsan ang problema ng mga mamimili sa mataas na presyo ng karne, isda, poultry at ng iba’t ibang klase ng gulay.
Matatandaang unang ginawa ang KADIWA buwan ng Abril 2020 bilang isa sa mga pamamaraan na mabigyang oportunidad ang mga mamamayang hindi basta basta makalabas ng tahanan dahil sa peligrong dulot ng Covid19 pandemic.
Pangungunahan ni City Mayor Joseph Evangelista at mga kawani ng DA XII ang pagbubukas ng KADIWA ganap na alas siyete ng umaga hanggang alas dos ng hapon sa nabanggit na petsa.
Mga regional at local producers and farmers ang magbebenta ng kanilang produktong karne ng baboy, baka, manok, isda, at iba’t ibang klase ng gulay, prutas, at iba pang sariwa at prosesong pagkain sa lugar sa presyong abot kaya ng buying public.
“Kumpara noong KADIWA last April 2020, mas maraming produktong karne ang ibebenta ngayong January 29, 2021”, pahayag pa ni City Agriculturist Marissa Aton.
Tulad ng nakagawian, kinakailangan pa ring sumunod ang mga mamimili sa mga nakasaad na minimum health protocols gaya ng pagsusuot ng face mask at face shields, physical distancing, thermal scanning at disinfection habang bibili sa KADIWA.
Kaugnay nito, sa kabila ng mataas na presyo, ipinababatid ng City Government sa pamamagitan ng City Agriculture Office na sapat ang supply ng pagkain sa lungsod.##(CIO)
Kidapawan City is third most competitive component city in Mindanao
Kidapawan City (January 22, 2021) – The City of Kidapawan emerged as third among the most competitive component cities in Mindanao based on the ranking of the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) for 2020.
The CMCI is a yearly endeavor by both government and private entities which aim to promote a more competitive country and instill excellence among cities and towns while strengthening collaboration and reduce poverty through inclusive growth.
Kidapawan City ranked fifth in 2019 and climbed 2 notches last year, while Tagum City remained rank one in two consecutive years. Kidapawan rose to rank two after it successfully met the four pillars for competitiveness namely Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, and Resiliency.
“Our data speaks for itself and we are more than happy the CMCI has recognized our efforts and our commitment to make Kidapawan City a more livable place”, said Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista.
Ten component cities made it to the Top 10 rankings of the CMCI in Mindanao for 2020 as follows Rank 1 – Tagum, Rank 2 – Cotabato, Rank 3 – Kidapawan, Rank 4 – Panabo, Rank 5 – Pagadian, Rank 6 – Dipolog, Rank 7 – Koronadal, Rank 8 – Gingoog City, Rank 9 – Surigao, and Rank 10 – Malaybalay.
Mayor Evangelista said the City Government is elated with the ranking attained by Kidapawan and attributed this to the strong partnership with the different stakeholders and their continued support to all the programs and projects of his administration.
“We are way ahead of other bigger cities and received the recognition despite the challenges and difficulties brought by the Covid19 pandemic”, the mayor said adding that the current leadership is geared towards economic recovery with the help of the community.
The mayor also highlighted the sacrifices of the city last year as many constituents took a tool from the Covid19 pandemic but does not hinder the Kidapawenos to unite even more and work hand in hand with the City Government.
The DTI Competitiveness Bureau, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and other agencies comprising the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) accumulates and evaluates the data submitted or complied by the cities and municipalities and from the regional level.

Kidapawan City council approves budget to purchase Covid vaccines and ambulance vehicles
KIDAPAWAN CITY (January 19, 2021) – In a special session held this morning, the Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Kidapawan declared a state of calamity in the entire city in response to the increasing number or surge of Covid19 positive cases in the city.
The special session gave way to the urgent passage of three resolutions of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) namely Resolution No.1 -2021, A resolution recommending for the declaration of state of calamity in the City of Kidapawan due to the effect of Covid19 pandemic and authorizing the Honorable City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista to utilize the CY 2021 LDRRMF 30% Quick Response Fund (QRF) for Covid19 response programs, projects and activities amounting to P14,703,000.00; Resolution No. 2-2021, A resolution recommending for the reprogramming of the unexpended balances/appropriations of various programs, projects, and activities funded under the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund 70% CY 2020-2021 to disaster risk reduction and management programs, projects and activities in the total amount of P19,470,000.00; and Resolution No. 3-2021, A resolution recommending the release and use of unexpended appropriations of LDRRMF Special Trust Fund CY 2017 to address the disaster response requirements of the Covid19 emergency in the amount of P1,300,000.00.
Mayor Evangelista himself was the resource person during the SP Kidapawan special session presided by Kidapawan City Councilor Melvin Lamata, Jr. Chair of the Committee on Legal Matters and Good Governance. “Any second that we delay the purchase of vaccine is endangering the lives of our people. That we cannot afford”, Mayor Evangelista stressed.
City Vice Mayor Jivy Roe Bombeo and City Councilor Ruby Padilla-Sison were not around during the session. Eleven other councilors were present making a quorum at the session.
Mayor Evangelista disclosed that a total of P28M coming from the 30% QRF and reprogramming of unexpended balances will be utilized to purchase vaccines for Covid19, four new ambulances, and cooling storages.
The City Government targets an estimated 45,901 residents to be vaccinated out of the said funds and after consideration of the roll out of vaccines from the national government covering 50-70% of the population in each province, city, or municipality.
Simultaneous to the approval of the three resolutions, the city mayor signed today Executive Order No. 006 series of 2021 containing the local vaccination scheme of the city. The EO 006 states the priority sectors for vaccination – front liners and senior citizens, and extends to teachers, market vendors, tricycle drivers and “habal-habal” drivers and the media. A vaccination team will be created and will undergo training and the system for acquiring the vaccine is also stipulated in the said EO.
Mayor Evangelista assured the constituents the City Government will be mindful in acquiring the vaccine and underscored the importance of its safety and efficacy. “We will only acquire vaccines which are approved by the Food and Drug Authority (FDA) and from those pharmaceuticals that are able to secure the Emergency Use Authority (EUA)”, said the mayor.
Meanwhile, the total number of positive Covid19 cases as of today in Kidapawan City is more than 50 with numerous suspected cases being monitored and rigid contact tracing in effect.
The City Health once more appealed to everyone to continue observing the minimum health protocols and do every possible means to avoid being infected by Covid19 virus as the vaccine for Covid19 is not yet available. (CIO_AJPME/jscj)
Kidapawan City Government bares wide support to agriculture sector amid pandemic
KIDAPAWAN CITY (JANUARY 18, 2021) – With the threat of the corona virus disease 2019 (Covid19) still high and continuing to bring adverse effects to the city’s agriculture sector, the City Government of Kidapawan bares its Support to Agriculture Program from the Annual Budget for 2021.
Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista disclosed that around P76M will be utilized to implement the program which includes purchase of a farm heavy equipment (back hoe), three refrigerated vans, 2 hauling trucks, establishment of feed mill, 1 additional demonstration farm, and a recovery scheme to further help the farmers who incurred significant losses due to the pandemic.
Mayor Evangelista said that his administration will continue to provide aid to farmers particularly the vegetable and fruit growers based in different villages as well as livestock raisers and fisherfolks.
“We know the difficult situation of our farmers whose income substantially decreased because of the pandemic. We cannot let them totally suffer and carry the burden all along. The budget we allotted for agriculture will empower them in terms of improving crops and livestock production; not to mention our goal of attaining food sufficiency and supply independence” the Mayor also said.
Some P9.5M will be utilized for various crops production including vegetable, corn, pomelo and calamansi; P4.2M for tilapia and mushroom production; P7M for livestock and poultry production; P2.7M for feed mill and a big portion goes to the acquisition of equipment, trucks and vans.
Mayor Evangelista added that the Office of the City Agriculturist is mandated to encourage more fisherfolks to sustain fish production by helping them in burrowing more fishponds. The office will also see to it that farm products such as vegetables, fruits, grains, fish and meat will be freshly sold in the market with the use of the hauling trucks and refrigerated vans the City Government will acquire in no time.
Furthermore, farmers will have an easy time in selling their farm produce as the City Government will continue buying vegetables and fruits harvested by local farmers through the Farmer’s Market program and to sell the same at affordable prices.
Along with these interventions to provide them with an easy way to produce processed food for their tilapia fingerlings and other pellets for livestock as well as fertilizers to boost production. This will eventually save them time and money, according to the City Government.
For her part, City Agriculturist Marissa Aton highlighted the Support to Agriculture Program as a comprehensive action of the City Government to combat ill-effects of Covi19 pandemic to our farmers.
“In response to Covid19, we are doing these as measures to assist local farmers and to help maintain food security which is an essential function of our office”, Aton said.

Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista lauds “Green, Green, Green” project, transforms City Center Islands into landscape
KIDAPAWAN CITY (January 13, 2021) – The Kidapawan City LGU expresses its gratitude to the “Green, Green, Green” project of President Rodrigo R. Duterte which transformed the City Center Islands from a mere pavement into a beautiful landscape.
Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista said the funds from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) amounting to P15M was fully utilized for the repair and beautification of the three-kilometer stretch City Center Islands at the National Highway, Quezon Boulevard, Kidapawan City.
“This area is one of the city’s iconic landmark and we are more than happy to see it’s now fully improved”, said Mayor Evangelista adding that the City Center Islands is the area that suits best the project.
The center islands’ improvement commenced from the Our Lady Mediatrix of All Graces Cathedral towards the CAP Building, visible to commuters and travelers routing Cotabato-Davao highway
The City LGU received the budget last year along with other LGUs and was very enthusiastic to use the funds in an eco-friendly activity and to highlight the city’s support to the national government’s campaign to make more livable cities and municipalities.
The City LGU also believes that the transformation of the city center islands will likewise benefit the residents because it increases accessibility of public open spaces and is a pleasant sight for passersby.
With the total appropriations of P2.5B for “Green, Green, Green” last 2018, the DBM based its allocations for cities and municipalities on their respective population counts and land area measurements. The project forms part of the Duterte administrations’ massive national infrastructure development program – “Build, Build, Build”. Despite the threat of Covid19 and the increasing risk brought about by the pandemic, the construction was started last September 2020 and was successfully completed by December 2020 right in time for the celebration of the Holiday Season. Kidapawan City LGU sustains Farmer’s Market to help vegetable and fruit growers amidst pandemic
Kidapawan City (January 13, 2021) – To be able to support the vegetable and fruit growers in Kidapawan City and help them cope up with the adverse effects of the Covi19 pandemic, the City LGU continued to purchase their harvests and sell it at the Farmer’s Market near the City Hall.
Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista said that farmers are among those heavily affected by the pandemic and the local government has initiated actions to assist them.
“Patronizing the farmers’ crops – vegetables and fruits which we directly buy from them in this difficult time is what they need from the government”, the Mayor said adding that the crops are freshly displayed at the Farmer’s Market.
He urged the consumers to support the local farmers by patronizing the Farmer’s Market which is very accessible to the buying public.
The concept of buying farmers’ produce begun in April 2020 at the height of the Covid19 pandemic. The LGU keenly saw the difficult situation of the farmers who find it hard to bring their products to the market due to restrictions of the quarantine imposed by the government.
“Aside from helping our distressed farmers, we also help consumers avail of fresh vegetables, fruits and even grains; which is vital in the quest for food security for the constituents”, Mayor Evangelista stressed.
The City LGU mandated the Office of the City Agriculturist headed by Marissa Aton and the other concerned offices to ensure food supply and look deeper into the welfare of the local vegetable and fruit growers especially with the present situation.
“We are encouraging our local consumers to buy their vegetable sustenance here in the farmer’s market”, said Aton. She added that doing so will help our local vegetable and fruit growers and farmers in their livelihood in this time of the Covi19 pandemic.
In this regard, the City LGU invites every household to buy fresh produce and support our very own farmers. The Farmer’s Market is open to serve the public from Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM with minimum health protocols being observed and followed. (CIO_AJPME/jscj)
Kidapawan City Mayor Evangelista leads inauguration of new Executive-Legislative building
KIDAPAWAN CITY (January 13, 2021) – With high spirits and optimistic of a renewed commitment to serve the people,Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista led the inauguration of the new Executive-Legislative office on January 7, 2021.
The office is situated at the left portion of the City Hall just beside the Office of the City Agriculturist and will now be used by the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Kidapawan and their staff to fine tune and craft responsive legislative advocacies for the people.
The new office is intended to provide a convenient workplace and a more appropriate place for both the Executive and Legislative meetings.
During the inauguration, Mayor Evangelista said the City Government continues to improve its service to the people and the new workplace will inspire the employees to give their best in serving the constituents.
“We continue to aim high for the sake of our people and we strive for better service, thus; this new office”, he said adding that his administration always thinks of ways to inspire City Hall personnel as they are the front liners in delivery of genuine service.
Before its formal opening, the new building was blessed by Fr. Desiderio Balatero, DCK followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony led by the mayor, some department heads along with key personnel from the SP of Kidapawan City.
For their part, the members of the city council expressed their gratitude to what they say is a noble way of inspiring public servants to work and aim for more for the sake of the people.

More than 600 Kidapawenos avail free late birth certificate registrations from City LGU
KIDAPAWAN CITY (January 12, 2021) – Beneficiaries of the free birth certificate and late registration as well are proud of the Kidapawan City LGU’s program to help indigent individuals secure the said document without having to pay any amount.
Dubbed as “Rehistro Mo, Sagot Ko”, the project aims to help individuals especially those coming from poor families was launched in February 2020 which aims to provide birth certificates and avoid difficulties in the future.
Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista said this project forms part of the basic services intended for his constituents and firmly believes that every individual should possess the document.
“Every Filipino has the right to have an official document that contains his or her birth details but sad to say that still many people who do not have the capacity to secure this on their own, thus; this project came through”, said Mayor Evangelista.
Furthermore, he said that the project is in support to the advocacy of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to register each and every Filipino Citizen and come up with an accurate census.
The City Civil Registrar, City Legal, and City Information Office served as frontline agencies in processing the birth certificates and in making sure that each client is given appropriate legal assistance and to ensure that at the end of the day everyone is happy as a recipient of the project.
Raul A. Malaluan and Atty. Jose Paolo M. Evangelista, City Civil Registrar and City Legal Officer, respectively are both optimistic that the project will help more individuals residing at the different areas in the city.
Some of the villages already served include those with significant number of Indigenous Peoples such as Perez, Birada, Balabag, and Kalaisan along with one of the densely populated Singao.
The City LGU also said the “Rehistro Mo, Sagot Ko” project is very timely given the present Covid19 pandemic where people are advised to stay at home and be safe from the virus, aside from decongesting the concerned or respective offices. All they need to do is to wait for the representatives from the City Hall and provide the necessary information needed to make the document. CDRRMC proposes declaration of state of calamity in Kidapawan, allots funds for purchase of covid vaccines
KIDAPAWAN CITY (January 7, 2021) – The City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council of Kidapawan has recommended the declaration of state of calamity in the entire city after a surge of Covid19 transmission took place and posted an imminent risk among the constituents.
The declaration was agreed upon by the members of the CDRRMC with its Chairperson Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista in an emergency meeting last Monday, January 4, 2021. The council thoroughly discussed the impact of the holiday season wherein certain protocols were violated resulting to the increase of Covid19 cases in the city.
Three resolutions – Resolutions 1, 2, and 3 were actually approved by the council pertaining to the utilization of P28M for the purchase of Covid19 vaccines, four new ambulances, and Information, Education and Communication materials.
“As your City Government continuously strives to be pro-active in addressing the Covi-19 vaccines will be equitable for all Kidapawenos, specially our frontliners and the vulnerable sector. Your City Government will do everything I its power to bring normalcy to the lives of Kidapawenos as soos as humanly possible”, said Mayor Evangelista.
Based on Presidential Proclamation 922 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last year which placed the entire country under National State of Health Emergency and the World Health Organization (WHO) declaration of Covid19 Pandemic, and the current situation of the city necessitate the declaration of state of calamity, according to the CDRRMC.
The declaration also conforms to the criteria set by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) under Memorandum Order No. 60, Paragraph 1.
Local Government Units can have faster access to disaster quick response funds for the intended purpose, the moment the state of calamity is declared, giving officials the opportunity to procure or buy vital materials and other significant purchases pertaining to the health crisis.
Mayor Evangelista, publicly appealed to everyone to remain calm and vigilant despite the rise in Covid129 cases and urged the residents to abide with the guidelines set by the government and to strictly follow the minimum health protocols.
Meanwhile, the City Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (CESU) said that the designated isolation facilities of the city are now at full capacity with 34 actives cases of Covid19 and increasing number of suspects and probable.
But the City LGU has already taken steps and is now converting the city gymnasium to function as isolation facility with 40 bed capacity.
Added to this, the construction of a new building with 20-bed capacity for isolation purposes funded by the Department of health (DOH) will rise in no time, according to Mayor Evangelista. (CIO_JPME/JSCJ)

KIDAPAWAN CITY – NAGPASALAMAT ANG MGA MAGSASAKA ng saging sa lungsod sa pagbibigay solusyon sa kanilang problema sa tamang bentahan ng kanilang produkto.
Ito ang ipinapaabot ng mga banana farmers na mga kasapi ng Mua-an Farmers and Producers Multi-Purpose Cooperative matapos nilang matanggap ang isang bagong Fuso Hauling Truck mula sa Lokal na Pamahalaan nitong January 26, 2021.
Ito ay pinondohan kapwa ng City Government at ng Philippine Rural Development Project ng Department of Agriculture na naglalayung mai-angat ang kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka, magbigay ng angkop na kaalaman at teknolohiya upang mas lumago ang ani, at magkaroon ng pangmatagalan at epektibong sistema ng pagsasaka na makaka-agapay sa climate change.
“ Ang mga bagong truck ay makakatulong hindi lamang sa ating mga magsasaka na maipagbili ang kanilang ani. Tulong din ito sa ating local food sufficiency. May inilaan tayong Php 76 Million para palaguin ang agrikultura, fisheries livestock etc. Sa pamamagitan nito ay may sapat tayong pagkain sa panahon ng kalamidad. Ipinaseseguro ng inyong City Government na sa pamamagitan ng programa, hindi magugutom ang bawat Kidapawenyo”, pahayag pa ni City Mayor Joseph Evangelista kung saan ay pinangunahan niya ang turn-over ng bagong Hauling Truck.
Ang bagong truck ay isa lamang sa tatlong sasakyan na siyang commitment ng City Government sa pagtulong sa mga magsasaka na maibenta ang kanilang ani.
Nakatakdang bumili ng mga refrigerated vans ang City Government ngayong taon para maitago at maibenta ang mga produktong karne, poultry, preskong isda at mga gulay ng mga magsasaka mula sa Kidapawan City patungo sa malalaking pamilihan sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng bansa.
Makakatulong ito lalo na sa mga maliliit na magsasaka na direktang apektado sa limitadong marketing opportunities dala ng Covid19 pandemic. ##(CIO)
