Voter registration resumes on January 20
KIDAPAWAN CITY – THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ELECTION OFFICER HERE is encouraging would-be voters to register for the upcoming May 2022 National and Local Elections.
Registration for new voters begins on January 20, 2020 the Office of City Election Officer Angelita Failano said.
This will cover the registration of new voters; transfer of voter registration; change/correction of voter registration records; reactivation of registration records; and reinstatement of name in the list of voters will be accepted at the City Commission on Elections Office.
Those who will be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day on May 9, 2022, a resident of the Philippines for 1 year and in the place where the voter intends to vote for at least six months on or before Election Day , may register.
Voters are encouraged to personally appear and update their voting records at the Comelec, situated at Jose P. Laurel Street at the back of the City Gymnasium in Barangay Poblacion.
The office is open at 8 o’clock in the morning until 5 in the afternoon on Mondays to Saturdays including Holidays.
Registration period is on January 20, 2020 until September 30, 2021.##(cio/lkoasay)

DILG pinuri ang ginawang pagtulong sa mga biktima ng lindol
KIDAPAWAN CITY – PINURI NG Department of the Interior and Local Government ang City LGU sa ginagawang mga hakbang nito para manumbalik na sa normal ang pamumuhay ng mga mamamayan matapos ang mga mapa sa lungsod.
Sa liham na ipinadala ni DILG 12 Regional Director Josephine Cabrido –Leysa, CESO III kay City Mayor Joseph Evangelista, particular na pinuri ng ahensya ang pakikipagtulungan ng Lokal na Pamahalaan sa National Housing Authority upang mabigayn ng disenteng pabahay ang mahigit sa 1,700 na pamilyang nakatira sa mga high risk areas na nilindol noong October 16, 29 at 31, 2019.
Sila yaong mga napilitang lumikas dahil sa banta ng landslides sa kanilang mga lugar na kinilalang high risk areas ng Mines and Geosciences Bureau ng DENR.
Para matugunan ang pangangailangan ng bagong tahanan ng mga pamilyang nabanggit, hiniling ni Mayor Evangelista sa Sangguniang Panlungsod na maglagak ng pondo para pambili ng mga lupang pagtatayuan ng resettlement sites.
Malapit o nasa loob ng ancestral domain ng mga pamilyang katutubo sa paanan ng Bundok Apo ang mga itatayong resettlement sites na sinertipikahang ligtas ng MGB.
Suportado naman ng DILG ang mga programa ng City LGU na naglalayung mapabuti ang kalagayan ng mga mamamayan.##(cio/lkoasay)

City Government conducts Post Disaster Needs Assessment
KIDAPAWAN CITY – THE CITY Government here, together with the Office of the Civil Defense XII, conducted a Post Disaster Needs Assessment – PDNA in all earthquake damaged and affected barangays.
The PDNA aims to assess the over-all impact of the recent earthquakes to affected families and communities and provide assistance in recovery and disaster rehabilitation.
Earlier, City Mayor Joseph Evangelista announced measures that will be implemented in the recovery efforts of the Local Government after series of strong earthquakes struck this city on October 16, 29 and 31, 2019.
The PDNA is one of the measures being undertaken to rebuild the lives of affected families and reconstruction of damaged communities, the Mayor said.
Kidapawan City is the first Local Government Unit that has initiated the Post Disaster Needs Assessment in the Province of Cotabato.
It is jointly sponsored by the City Government, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and the Office of the Civil Defense XII.
PDNA participants consist of personnel coming from the CDRRMO, DepEd, City Planning and Development Office; City Engineering Office; City Social Welfare and Development Office; Office of the Building Official; City Agriculture Office; City Legal Office; City Motorpool; City Health Office; City Veterinarian; City Tourism; Business Processing and Licensing Office; Cotabato Electric Cooperative; Metro Kidapawan Water District; DILG; National Economic and Development Authority and Department of Trade and Industry.
Participants were lectured on the salient points of the PDNA process pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act 10-121 or the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Law during the first part of the PDNA that started on January 6, 2020.
After the series of lectures, participants were divided into groups for the on-site visitation and assessment of affected families and communities.
Among the Barangays visited were Ilomavis, Balabag, Perez, and Poblacion.
Affected residents were interviewed during the PDNA assessment.
Among the post-earthquake concerns that came up during the interviews are: displaced housing and lack of sustainable livelihood and service utilities; damaged school buildings, roads and other public infrastructures, the spread of illnesses in evacuation camps, emotional stress and trauma among a number of individuals.
All of these concerns together with the correlative policy recommendations will be integrated in the PDNA Report to be submitted to the Office of the President.
The City Government is prioritizing solutions to the said concerns with the help of national line agencies and other stakeholders.
Resettlement sites are now being prepared to provide new housing units for displaced families.##(cio/lkoasay)

City Government extends business permits and licenses renewal for 2020
KIDAPAWAN CITY – The City Government here started renewing all business permits and licenses for Fiscal year 2020.
For this year, all business permits and licenses renewal are extended until March 31, 2020.
The extension is based on City Ordinance number 19-1296 that was approved by City Mayor Joseph Evangelista on December 5, 2019.
The City Government is giving consideration to business owners who were affected by the October 2019 series of earthquakes, thus the extension.
“This is our way of helping our business owners and operators recover from the losses they incurred due to the earthquakes.”, Mayor Evangelista said.
Aside from the extension, penalties were also condoned as added privilege to business owners, as stipulated in City Ordinance 19-1296.
For Fiscal Year 2020, the City Government reduced the real property taxes fee by 20% as an additional benefit to all taxpayers in the city.
This covers all lands, buildings and machineries inside Kidapawan City under City Ordinance number 12-1297 that was passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod and approved by the Mayor on December 9, 2019.
However, taxpayers must settle first their accrued obligations as of 2019 with the City Government in order to avail the 20% reduction on real property taxes.
Real Property taxes paid in advance will be credited in favor of taxpayers that will be deducted from payments made for Fiscal year 2021 to the City Government.

Tricycle drivers gipahimangnuan nga dili mamikil og pasahero

Kini ang simple apan mahinungdanong pahimangno sa City Government sa tanang nanag-iya ug driver sa tricycle aron makalikay nga mareklamo.
Daghan sa mga reklamo nga nakaabot sa Tricycle Adjudication Board sa City Government mao ang wala pagkasinabtanay sa driver ug pasahero, kini matud pa ni City Traffic Management Unit Head Rey Manar sa dihang gisugdan na ang seminar alang sa renewal sa permit sa mga tricycle nga nagabyahe ning dakbayan.
Gani bag-o pa man ang pahimangno ni Manar, nauna na nga gibutyag ni Atty Jose Paolo Evangelista, Acting City Information Officer ug representante ni City Mayor Joseph Evangelista sa nasampit nga seminar, nga adunay ipahimutang nga ‘hotline’ ang City Government aron maoy dangpanan sa mga reklamo batok sa mga pabadlong nga driver.
Dili pwede mo-balibad ang driver sa iyang pasahero nga musakay basta anaa lamang sa solud sa Kidapawan City ang ruta, hingpit nga pahimangno sa otoridad.
Dili sad pwede nga mo-singil sobra sa plitehan ang driver sa tricycle kay anaa may taripa nga maoy sumbanan sa saktong plitehan.
Pwede nga bawion sa mga otoridad ang permit ug prangkisa sa usa ka tricycle kung magsige na lang nga ginareklamo ang driver niini kay dili mosunod sa saktong polisiya sa City Government.
Gikinahangkan sad nga mosunod sa saktong pamalaod sa trapiko ang mga driver aron malikayan nga madisgrasya unya ang ilang mga pasahero.
Nagsugod na sa seminar ang tanang ruta nga “1” kon Poblacion.
Ginalauman nga mahuman ang seminar sa tanang ruta sa Enero 10, 2020.

Post-Earthquake recovery efforts revealed in City Govt’s first Monthly Convocation Program for 2020
KIDAPAWAN CITY – The city’s recovery efforts after the October 2019 earthquakes were revealed in this year’s first City Government Convocation program on January 6, 2020.
City Mayor Joseph Evangelista led the first monthly convocation program where in he shared his plans for the post disaster recovery efforts of the Local Government.
Beginning this week, the Site Development Plan will be done to prepare the Relocation communities that will house the displaced families living in high risk areas affected by the earthquakes, the Mayor said.
The demolition of the Eva’s Building that was toppled by the 6.5 tremor on October 31, 2019 will also start within this week, Mayor Evangelista revealed.
The Chief Executive also urged the City Vice Mayor and the Sanggunian to prioritize and allocate funds for the construction of new City Hall Building in Barangay Magsaysay that will better serve the public.
The City Hall building has incurred damages during the four earthquakes thus, the transfer is being prepared beginning this year.
The events of the October 2019 earthquakes where shown and interpreted by the dancers representing the Offices of the City Mayor, City Administrator, City Human Resource and Management, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and City Information during the Convocation program in front of the City Hall.
The City Government showed its gratitude to groups and individuals who extended their assistance for the earthquake victims by way of a video presentation during the program.
The Mayor likewise thanked all officials and employees for a job well done during the past year, and encouraged those to serve the public well this 2020. ##(cio/lkoasay)
